Pneumothorax may be spontaneous, traumatic or
iatrogenic
The presence of air in the pleural space is termed 'pneumothorax'. Spontaneous
pneumothoraces can be divided
into those that occur secondary to disease in the lungs, and those that occur in
otherwise healthy individuals.
Traumatic pneumothorax may be due to chest injury, or may be iatrogenic. |
